Short Vowel Sounds for Kids

Hello friends, As most of you know by now I am a great fan of the synthetic phonics system of Jolly Phonics. When my elder son was 3 years old, he was introduced to Jolly Phonics. It was a completely new thing for me as I belong to the generation that learned to read by memorizing that A is for apple and B is for B. We were never taught the sounds of the alphabet. We learned their names. I guess our brains just added the missing link of sounds on their own. A huge thanks to the people behind the Jolly Phonics and other synthetic phonics systems. Instead of second-guessing the sounds of the alphabet on their own, children now learn the sounds first and then, the names of the alphabet.
