Relative Pronouns for Kids

Image
A relative pronoun is a pronoun that is used to refer to nouns that have been mentioned previously. The nouns can be people, places, things, animals, or ideas. Relative pronouns can be used to join two sentences. The most common relative pronouns that are taught to children in the very beginning are as follows: Who Whose Whom Which  That In some situations, words like “ where ”, “ when ”, and “ why ” are also used as relative pronouns. The following chart is a good way of understanding how to use relative pronouns in sentences. Relative Pronouns Chart: Using some relative pronouns might be confusing in the beginning; they require some special attention. For example, it takes time for children to understand where to use " who"  and where to use " whom" . Who vs Whom: “Who” is a subjective pronoun.  “Whom” is an objective pronoun. You can only use “who” as the subject of a sentence; the subject is the doer of the action. “Whom” is the object of a sentence. The objec...

Hello friends, Learn and practice verbs and tenses in this beautiful e-book called "My First Book of Verbs and Tenses".  Before downloading the high-quality PDF for the verbs and tenses worksheets for the kids' booklet, spend a few minutes with me to go over verbs and their role in the English language. Look at the following two sentences:  1. I swim.    2. I swam yesterday.  These two sentences don't mean the same thing as they use different tenses. The first sentence means that I do the action (swimming) often. This sen...

Irregular Verbs for Kids

🌷 When children start learning English, the correct usage of tenses is very important. And when children start learning about tenses, it is essential that they use the correct form of the verb. Normally, a verb like "𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽" will change, in accordance with the tense used, in the following way: 🍁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲: I 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽 very high. 🍁 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲: I 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱 very high. 🍁 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲: I ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱 very high. U nfortunately, some verbs, called 𝗜𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗥 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗦, don't change so simply by adding "ed" to them. 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: I 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 very tasty food. I 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 very tasty food. I ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 very tasty food last night. OR I 𝗿𝘂𝗻 to school every day. I 𝗿𝗮𝗻 to school. I ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝗿𝘂𝗻 to school. OR I 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺 in the lake. I 𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗺 in the lake. I ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝘀𝘄𝘂𝗺 in the lake. OR the very unique verbs that don't change at all 😊 I 𝗰𝘂𝘁 an apple every day. I 𝗰𝘂𝘁 an appl...
