Most of the content on Youtube and even TV channels is in English; hence, children are learning English faster than their mother tongues like Hindi. English  is the most common language in the world with 1.5 billion speakers   worldwide. In many countries, English is the official language. All parents want their children to excel in speaking English for their future professional success. Moreover, most of the videos for children on the popular video-sharing platform, Youtube, are in English. Hence, children start understanding and speaking English from a very young age.  However, there is a side-effect of this overpowering influence of the English language for children whose mother tongue is not English. They have started regressing in learning their mother tongue. Schools have the propensity to focus on English. Parents also strive to teach English to their children. In addition, there is not much entertainment material available in other languages on Youtube or television.  So, how should we go about teaching the native language to a child?
