Addition Flash Cards for learning Number Bonds

Image
Hello everyone, I am back with some more Mental Math practice worksheets but this time in the form of flashcards. I know that I have already uploaded worksheets for single-digit addition and subtraction that correspond to Class #1 and Class #2 of my Mental Math Classes on my YouTube Channel but I believe that more practice is needed. Single Digit addition or single digit number bonds are the basics of mental math. Almost all mental math tricks use these facts that have to be learned. So, I decided to convert them into flashcards for better learning. You know how much I love flashcards 😄; I can't stop myself from making them again and again.  So, here they are again but this time not related to Geography or Animals or Fruits but in the form of single-digit addition sums. They are again two-way. The procedure to use them is the same as my Geography or Buildings Flash Cards: How to Use: Cut out an A4 size cardboard paper or you can even recycle an empty cereal box. Cut in the m...

Mental Math Part 3 - Adding Two-Digit Numbers

Image
This is part 3 of my Mental Math worksheets: If you are a regular visitor of my website, you might know that I have developed a Mental Math mobile app . It is available on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store and it is 100% Free. I also publish video tutorials on the concepts and tricks taught in this app. Now, this app provides unlimited practice and you can practice even with a timer so you can easily become faster at mental math but I do know that some people like practicing on paper so this is why I started making these Mental Math worksheets. These worksheets correspond to Class #5 of my Mental Math series on my YouTube Channel. However, I have tried to make these worksheets independent of the tutorials by giving quite a lot of detail about the mental math tricks in them. I hope you like this effort. Have a look at my mental math app too where it all started 😀.  The worksheets have a lot of questions for practice. I have explained two tricks to solve two-digit number a...

Preschool Math for Kids (Counting)

Image
Hello friends, I am back with another set of worksheets for practicing math for preschool-aged children. This time the theme is the glorious season of Spring. I am sure that your children or students will enjoy doing these vibrantly colorful worksheets.  Let me tell you about the idea behind these worksheets. Once the children have learned number recognition from 1-10, they need to continue practicing counting and they also need to associate the number symbols with actual quantity. These worksheets will help them in practicing their counting. Moreover, they also need to know the order of the numbers i.e. what comes before, after, or between two numbers so that will be taught too in these worksheets. Once they have mastered this, they have to move onto greater than and less than concepts. The concept is being taught by a very hungry alligator 🐊  that loves eating more snacks and bigger numbers.  I have tried to make these worksheets quite exciting for little, curious min...

Mental Math - adding and subtracting two-digit numbers

Aren't you impressed when you see people quickly doing math in their brains? Now, you and your children can also be among that group of genius people. It just requires some tricks and practice. I am teaching these tricks on my YouTube channel and you can also download my 100% FREE Mental Math app for learning about these tricks and practicing them with and without a timer. Isn't this amazing?  I have also started making worksheets so that you can do more practice especially if you want to limit your children's exposure to screen. I have already published part 1 of these worksheets that focused on adding and subtracting one-digit numbers.  Those worksheets were for  Class #1  and  Class #2  of my Mental Math tutorials.  This is part 2 of my Mental Math worksheets. These focus on adding and subtracting single-digit numbers from two-digit numbers. As you can see that I am slowly but steadily advancing towards more complicated concepts of mental math. Be...

Multiplication for Kids (Tables 3 and 4)

Image
Hello...I am back with the second part of my multiplication worksheets. Children have difficulty in understanding the concept of multiplication and it is unfair to force them to memorize something that they don't understand. I took special care in my introduction to multiplication worksheets to explain the concept of multiplication to children. I am hoping that you used those worksheets and that your children or students understood the concept of multiplication. In this second part, I am again starting with groups so that some revision is also done and I am focusing on tables of 3 and 4. Last time, I used dinosaur  🦖  helpers to ignite the interest of young kids in multiplication (who doesn't like dinosaurs 😄), and now, to honor the arrival of Spring  🌷   in the Northern Hemisphere, I have invited some Spring insects  🐞  to help your children while they practice the tables of 3 and 4. I hope you like these worksheets. If you haven't used the first part...

Mental Math - adding and subtracting 1-digit numbers

Besides Computer Programming/Coding, the subject of Mathematics has been very close to my heart. A strong foundation of math is essential in almost all fields of study. Besides having a clear knowledge of math concepts, another aspect of mathematics that is usually ignored is doing math in your brain.  We often see videos of people doing math sums lightning fast in their brains. They are nicknamed human calculators and people are just awed by their intelligence. I believe that most of these people have trained their brains to answer math questions. They use tricks and techniques to answer questions super-fast. This requires patience and training. A person cannot become excellent in something from the very first day. Yes, I know that there are true prodigies in this world. but what I am trying to explain is that doing math in your brain is not Rocket Science!  It shouldn't be considered impossible to achieve if we start training our brains now. Moreover, when children are youn...

Introduction to Multiplication for Kids

Image
Mathematics is a tricky subject. When taught well, it can easily become a child's favorite subject. However, it also has a tendency to become a child's worst nightmare if concepts stay unclear! Maths teachers have to be very patient as every child is different. Some children are comfortable around numbers. You will see them counting objects even as toddlers. It is the perfect time when you can introduce them to concepts like addition and subtraction. Adding things and finding their sum is a critical skill as it forms the basis of another essential skill called multiplication.  Multiplication is basically repeated addition: adding the same number again and again. You have to slowly and steadily, with loads of patience, associate the concept of repeated addition to multiplication. This is why multiplication shouldn't be taught until children are very, very comfortable with addition. If you see your child struggling with addition, take a break and Some people start teaching m...
