How to Write English Letters

Your child can now recognize the English alphabets, both capital and small. Now, it is time to start writing these letters. However, this can be a daunting task as writing English letters is not the same as drawing a sky with birds flying where you can draw birds in any order, from left to right or from right to left 😊. Each letter of the alphabet has to be drawn in a certain order and this is called letter formation. I am hoping that the following printable chart will help you in teaching your children how to write English letters.

This formation order is important and this has to be corrected in the beginning so that the children don't face any difficulty when they have to write more and have to go faster.

How to Make your Children Early Readers of English

The following steps are a sure way to make your children early readers of English: 1. If you want your children to start reading English quickly, then start teaching them phonics at a young age (3-4 yrs). Some parents start earlier than 3 years but this is most probably because the children have an early focus from the beginning and have an easier temperament for learning. So, don’t worry if your 2.5 yrs old is not grasping the phonics concept 😊; this just means that he/she is not ready yet. I recommend the Jolly Phonics order as this order has been scientifically proven to be easier for younger children. This is the order 👇 When my son was 3+ yrs and started doing phonics for the first time, I had difficulty in teaching him the different sounds. I made my first mobile app just to make the learning process easier for him and more colorful ☺️. So, you can use this 100% FREEapp available on Google Play Store. Pre-writing Activities for Preschoolers

Before children start to write letters and numbers, they need to do tracing activities and learn to draw straight lines, curves, slanting lines, etc. This will help them in writing the alphabets and numbers as both alphabets and numbers can be broken down into straight lines, slanting lines and curves. I hope the following worksheets will help your children in mastering the tracing of lines and curves so that it will be easier for them to transition to proper writing. I believe that children shouldn't be forced to do these tracing activities until their hand muscles are fully developed and strong. Ideally, children shouldn't be asked to write with pencils until they are at least 3 yrs old. My recommendation: give them crayons 🖍️ for the following worksheets in the beginning and later, give a pencil ✏️ for the same worksheets 😊.
