Thank you for downloading the Voice Stopwatch mobile application. This application has been created and owned by ObsidianSoft.

ObsidianSoft respects your privacy and we are committed to protecting it. This policy has been established for you to understand our commitment. It was last modified on 22 Feb 2025. It can be changed at any time without prior notice and the updated policy will be available at the same location as this policy.

This policy will explain clearly whether we collect your private/sensitive information or not and what we do with it. Our main objective is that any information collected from you will be handled with complete care and respect and we will take all steps to keep it private.

For purposes of the Policy, “Application” refers to Voice Stopwatch. Application also includes any Application updates and upgrades that ObsidianSoft may provide to you or make available to you, or that you obtain after the date you obtain your initial copy of the Application.

The present Policy refers to “ObsidianSoft” or the Application depending on the context. BY INSTALLING, USING OR ACCESSING THE APPLICATION, YOU HEREBY ACCEPT THE POLICY WITHOUT QUALIFICATION. If you do not agree to this Policy, do not use or access the Application, and delete it from the device on which the Application was installed (the “Device”).

The purpose of the Application is to help users operate a stopwatch using voice commands. It listens for commands like start and stop and speaks out the lap time when a lap is finished. It uses Vosk offline speech recognition. 

1. Information Collection

1.1 Personal Information: The Application may collect personal information from children under the age of 13, specifically audio recordings of their speech when they use the speech recognition feature. This audio data is used solely for the purpose of converting the speech to text and is immediately discarded after the conversion. The audio data is not stored or shared with any third parties.

1.2 Non-Personal Information: The Application may collect non-personal information automatically, such as device information (e.g., device model, operating system version) and usage data (e.g., application features accessed, time spent on each feature). This information is used solely for improving the Application's functionality and providing a better user experience.

2. Use of Information

2.1 Personal Information: The personal information collected, which includes audio recordings of children's speech, is used solely for the purpose of converting the speech to text and providing the intended functionality of the Application. This information is not stored, shared, or used for any other purposes.

2.2 Non-Personal Information: Non-personal information may be used for analytical purposes, such as monitoring Application performance, identifying usage patterns, and optimizing user experience. This information may be shared with third-party analytics providers, but it will be aggregated and anonymized to ensure user privacy.


3. User Control and Uninstall

The user can start and stop the stopwatch using either voice commands or on-screen buttons.

4. Permissions

The following is a complete listing and description of what functions on the Device are accessed and/or modified by the Application.

4.1 RECORD AUDIO:

Allows the users of the Application to give voice answers to the Voice Stopwatch using the microphone.

4.2 FOREGROUND SERVICE

Allows the app to run even when the screen is timed out.


5. Limitation of Liability

ObsidianSoft will not be held responsible for any damages resulting from the misuse of any information collected through the Application by any third party, or any misuse of any information collected through the Application, not in violation of the Policy.
