Let's learn about the landscape of planet Earth today but not in English but in Urdu. I had created these cute two-way Landforms flashcards for children in English. I recently decided that I should take some time out to convert some of my educational resources to Urdu. No need to worry my dear non-Urdu-speaking followers as I will keep on publishing amazing stuff in English too but this is a side-by-side initiative to save my country's language. I hope you can understand. Thank you!
Now, these cards can be used by Preschool to Grade 4 aged children. The definitions of the landforms in Urdu might be a little too difficult for younger children but I think they are easy enough for grade 2 and above children. Every card has a picture and name on one side and a description on the other side.
How to Use:
Cut out an A4 size cardboard paper or you can even recycle an empty cereal box. Cut in the middle lengthwise. Print out the Geography flashcards on an A4 size paper. Put a piece of cardboard in the middle of the printed paper and glue the paper around it. Cut out the flashcards. You will get three double-sided flashcards from each printout. You can make all flashcards waterproof by covering them with Scotch tape. Isn't this a great idea? Your children will love these cute flashcards. They are an excellent way of increasing your children's vocabulary in the subject of Geography and that too in Urdu. For younger children who can't read independently, you can sit and read the descriptions with them. Once the children have looked at all the flashcards, you may test them by showing them the picture side of flashcards and asking them to define the landforms in their own words. This is also an effective way of learning Urdu for children whose Urdu is weak. They can practice their Urdu speaking this way.
The download link for a high-quality pdf is given below. Have fun learning with your children. I am sure you will also enjoy them just as I enjoyed making them. Also, these flashcards are not just meant for parents. All the dedicated and amazing teachers out there: go ahead and use these resources to impart knowledge to your students. I believe in Free and Inclusive education for all 😊
