Read and Write about Magical Creatures (Halloween Special)

Hello friends,
Let’s talk about magic and the children’s fascination with magical creatures.

Magic and magical creatures have always been a source of fascination for children. From the stories of dragons and unicorns to the legends of wizards and witches, these fantastical beings and powers have a special allure for young minds.

One reason for this is that children are still in the process of discovering and understanding the world around them. They are naturally curious and eager to learn about new things, and the concept of magic and magical creatures offers endless possibilities for exploration and wonder. The idea that there could be creatures and powers beyond what we can see and touch is thrilling for children and allows them to let their imaginations run wild.
Speaking about magic, I found this really cute craft for children who love playing with magical items: I think this craft is perfect for Halloween and even Christmas so do think about giving it a try. Children can make fairy potions with a unique recipe book and decorate their potion bottles. I wish I was a kid!

Magic and magical creatures are a way for children to escape the mundanity of everyday life. Children often find themselves in a world where they have little control and must conform to adult rules and expectations. The idea of being able to have magical powers or befriending a dragon or unicorn can be very fascinating for children and it can be a way for children to imagine a world where they have control.

Hence, I decided to make these reading comprehension worksheets for 6-7 years old children. The passages are easy to read with no complicated words but at the same time, they are perfectly engaging for young minds. The questions are also very clear and simple but in many worksheets, I have also added an open-ended question where the children can explore their feelings about the mythical character and be creative in their responses.

Just print them out and your children or students will enjoy reading these cute passages on their favorite magical beings and answering the short, easy questions that test their comprehension; a win-win situation!

If you like doing worksheets with your children, then as a parent I would personally recommend purchasing an inktank printer such as HP Smart -Tank 6001 Wireless Cartridge-Free all in one printer. There are no cartridges just ink bottles and believe me, we have been using the printer constantly for the last 3 years with no refills.
I am in love with how economical and efficient these new ink tank printers are; the printer has made my life so much easier as I don't have to rush to the market to get printouts and the printer doesn't even require refills (for at least 2 years): a win-win situation! The following printer is available on Amazon so just click here to purchase it from the comfort of your home and get it delivered to your home easily and conveniently.

And a printer is incomplete without a set of economical A4 size printer paper. Do check out this great deal by Amazon: 500 sheets of A4 sized printer paper, a must in my home!

There are 4 cute worksheets covering mythical/magical creatures: fairies, mermaids, dragons, and elves 😊

If you like the quality of these worksheets and want more like these for your students, then you can get the 15 worksheets pack from TPT. I have covered more magical creatures like unicorns, phoenixes, cyclops, leprechauns, centaurs, pegasus, wizards, etc. hence, more magical fun for your children to read about these fantasy creatures this Halloween.
