Read and Write about Magical Creatures

 Hello friends,

Let’s talk about magic and the children’s fascination with magical creatures.

Magic and magical creatures have always been a source of fascination for children. From the stories of dragons and unicorns to the legends of wizards and witches, these fantastical beings and powers have a special allure for young minds.

One reason for this is that children are still in the process of discovering and understanding the world around them. They are naturally curious and eager to learn about new things, and the concept of magic and magical creatures offers endless possibilities for exploration and wonder. The idea that there could be creatures and powers beyond what we can see and touch is thrilling for children and allows them to let their imaginations run wild.

In addition, the fantasy genre allows children to explore different emotions and situations in a safe and controlled environment. It allows them to face fears and conquer them, or to explore the idea of good and evil in a way that is accessible to their level of understanding.

Magic and magical creatures are a way for children to escape the mundanity of everyday life. Children often find themselves in a world where they have little control and must conform to adult rules and expectations. The idea of being able to have magical powers or befriending a dragon or unicorn can be very fascinating for children and it can be a way for children to imagine a world where they have control.

Hence, I decided to make these reading comprehension worksheets for 4-5 years old children. The passages are easy to read with no complicated words but at the same time, they are perfectly engaging for young minds. The questions are also very clear and simple but in many worksheets, I have also added an open-ended question where the children can explore their feelings about the mythical character and be creative in their responses.

Just print them out and your children or students will enjoy reading these cute passages on their favourite magical beings and answering the short, easy questions that test their comprehension; a win-win situation!

There are 10 cute worksheets covering mythical/magical creatures like fairies, mermaids, dragons, centaurs, goblins, elves, and more 😊
