Although cut-and-glue worksheets are way more fun than worksheets for kids that require writing, the main concern for both parents and teachers is that the children have to use scissors. One way of resolving this issue is doing the cutting for them so that they just have to glue or you can get these amazing child-safe scissors from Amazon.

Glue sticks are the perfect way to go for little fingers. I came across this great deal by Amazon in which you get 4 Elmer's glue sticks in a pack. As you might already know, I am a strong proponent of the Jolly Phonics system of synthetic phonics sounds. Gone are the days of A for apple, B for Ball...this is the time of synthetic phonics where each alphabet has a sound. Now, you don't teach children the name of the letter but the sound made by the letter. A has the sound that comes when we say the word apple, b has the sound that comes when we say bed, and so on and so forth. There are different systems of synthetic phonics but I have felt that Jolly Phonics is the best system. In fact, I made my first mobile app for my son based on the Jolly Phonics style of teaching.
