Hello,
Remember that I wrote about how we can write about any animal if we follow this pattern:
1. It should start with an important fact about the animal.
2. It should tell what the animal looks like.
3. It should tell where the animal lives.
4. It should tell what the animal eats.
5. It should end with an interesting fact about the animal or the writer's own feelings towards the animal 😊
I used this pattern in my insect worksheets. I provided information about some insects and a spider 🕷️(a spider is not an insect as it has 8 legs 😊) and I provided worksheets for children to write according to the above-mentioned pattern. I believe that it was good practice for teaching children how to write about any animal be it an insect, a marine animal, or a reptile. If you don't know what I am talking about and are new to my website, please check out my insect worksheets here.
However, children will not be able to write about an animal if they don't know anything about it. This is why I provided bite-size information about some animals using the concept of double-sided flashcards here. However, I had made those flashcards for older children in grades 2-3 but I received feedback that parents and teachers needed animal flashcards for younger children where the information is not very complicated and can be easily absorbed. Hence, I started working on these very cute flashcards for preschoolers. This is part 1. I have covered 15 creepy crawlies/bugs in them. I have kept the information very, very simple and with no complicated information as the flashcards are meant for preschool-aged children.
Tell your children the difference between insects and arachnids. A simple explanation will do as these are little kids. An insect's body is made up of three parts whereas an arachnid's body is made up of two parts. An insect has 6 legs and an arachnid has 8 legs. They don't need more information at this age.
I sincerely hope that you like this effort. Please share them with your friends and family and tell them about my work as my resources are 100% free. The link is given below.
If you regularly do worksheets with your children, then as a parent I would personally recommend purchasing an inktank printer such as Canon's megatank printer. I am in love with how economical and efficient these new ink tank printers are; the printer has made my life so much easier as I don't have to rush to the market to get printouts and the printer doesn't even require frequent refills: a win-win situation! The following printer is available on Amazon so just click here to purchase it from the comfort of your home and get it delivered to your home easily and conveniently.
Remember to use these cards to make the children talk about animals using the same pattern as I have given above. They need to not only learn about these insects but also present information about them verbally so that they become masters at creative writing from a younger age.😁

Free Jolly Phonics Group 1 worksheets (s, a, t, i, p, n) According to Oxford Dictionary, phonics is a "method of teaching people to read by correlating sounds with symbols in an alphabetic writing system". In simple words, each letter of the alphabet has a sound. Instead of teaching young children the names of these alphabets, the sounds are taught. For example "a" makes the sound /a/...this is exactly the sound that comes from your mouth in the beginning when you say the word " apple " or " ant ". The letter "a" makes a different sound in words like " arm " and " ate " but these rules are taught later. Jolly Phonics is a synthetic phonics system where all the letters of the alphabet have been split into seven groups. Each group contains 6 letters or their combinations so a total of 42 sounds are taught. What do I mean by a combination of letters? Remember that the combination of letters "s" and "h&
Free Jolly Phonics Group 2 worksheets (c/k, e, h, r, m, d) Hello Friends, I am back with another set of worksheets for helping children learn their phonics sounds. As you might already know, I am a strong proponent of the Jolly Phonics system of synthetic phonics sounds. Jolly Phonics system follows a particular order of teaching alphabet sounds in which there are seven groups. The following image shows the seven groups of Jolly Phonics along with an extra group taught by my Phonics app on Google Play Store. My app called Phonics Fun is 100% Free so you can download it and use it on all your Android devices. It teaches all the letter sounds and different phonics rules and follows the pattern of Jolly Phonics but it is available for free. It is the perfect way to master phonics as you can hear phonics sounds and also test learning by playing many matching games. Coming back to printable Jolly phonics worksheets, I have already published worksheets for practicing Group 1 (s, a, t,
Gone are the days of A for apple, B for Ball...this is the time of synthetic phonics where each alphabet has a sound. Now, you don't teach children the name of the letter but the sound made by the letter. A has the sound that comes when we say the word apple, b has the sound that comes when we say bed, and so on and so forth. There are different systems of synthetic phonics but I have felt that Jolly Phonics is the best system. In fact, I made my first mobile app for my son based on the Jolly Phonics style of teaching. However, I know that many people want to limit screen exposure for their children so I decided to make these flashcards. You can use these flashcards independently or you can use them along with my app called Phonics Fun , available on the Google Play Store. You can hear the sounds from my app. Practice using these flashcards and then, test learning using my app too...a win-win situation :) The Jolly Phonics flash cards are double-sided. I have told you in my previ
